Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work of the RFP includes providing Structural and Geotechnical Engineer of Record (EOR) Services to Lane County. The work will focus on maintenance of existing infrastructure and development and assistance with design and construction of public works infrastructure projects. Services include, but are not necessarily limited to the following items: • Bridge Working Group Member – Attend periotic meetings in person or virtually to be an active participant in the Lane County Bridge working group. • Bridge Maintenance and Repair Design - Evaluate specific structures (bridges, walls, large culverts) and provide site specific designs for repairs to be performed by Lane County staff or contract documents to be bid by Lane County. • Geotechnical investigations - Evaluate specific areas or facilities (bridges, landslides, walls) and provide site specific designs or recommendations for repairs to be performed by Lane County staff or contract documents to be bid by Lane County. • Capital Project Structural & Geotechnical Engineering Design - Assist Lane County Design Services by providing complete engineering designs (plans and special provisions) for structural or geotechnical elements of a Capital Improvement Project. Tasks may include: o Reviewing existing information, including geotechnical borings and reports. o Foundation design including allowable bearing capacity, depth of footing embedment, minimum footing dimensions and estimated settlements. Deep foundation recommendations may be required if determined to be necessary, based on borings data. o Subgrade preparation and the overall suitability of the in-situ soils and in-place materials for use as structural fill. o Design of: ▪ Engineered fills including gradation and compaction. ▪ Wet and dry weather construction recommendations. ▪ Subsurface conditions encountered including pertinent soil and rock properties, groundwater conditions and subsurface drainage requirements. ▪ Bridges, culverts, retaining walls, head walls and wing walls, or other highway related structures. o Developing plans and specifications for various project development phases (30%, 70%, 95). o Providing final stamped engineered drawings and special provisions at final design stage. o Attending meetings virtually or in person
