Specifications include, but are not limited to: The agent/broker will be expected to lead the charge in assisting with the redesign of the City’s wage and life insurance plan, and developing and maintaining a relationship with an appropriate wage and life insurance vendor for the City of Madison once selected. The agent will manage the process in consultation with the City for selecting the wage and life insurance vendor. Additionally, the selected agent will assume primary responsibility in managing the relationship between the City and vendor. Initial Responsibilities: • Review background information including the current design and financial responsibility of the wage and life insurance programs and the amount of participating employees. • Meet with Project Team (Human Resources, associations and unions, and key leadership staff) to validate scope of services, immediate wage and life insurance vendor needs, timetable and other deliverables. • Propose plan modifications to deliver quality wage and life insurance to City employees at a reasonable price. • Work with stakeholders to ensure appropriate education of employees, Association and Union representatives, and Human Resources and payroll staff to ensure quality engagement and strong buy-in to plan design changes. Marketing Management: • Identify City of Madison needs for a Wage and Life Insurance vendor. • Draft and prepare market submission in conjunction with the Project Team (Human Resources, associations and unions, and key leadership staff). • Lead feedback discussions and selection process of wage and life insurance vendor. • Assist City staff with the development of communications to keep employees appraised throughout the project. Selection of the Wage and Life Insurance vendor • Present implementation options to Project Team; assist Human Resources and the Finance Department in the development of budgetary impact data and implementation strategy. • Through meetings with Project Team, develop final recommendation for implementation. • Prepare and present on-site a final report that will include the implementation plan, transitional plan and necessary information to ensure full transition. • Identify training and resources for employees from the wage and life insurance vendor.
