Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Contractor to mark out the excavation area for Dig Safe (888-344-7233 at least 72 business hours in advance of excavation. 2. The Purpose of this work is to enlarge the existing irrigation and science pond to meet the needs of the school districts investment in adjacent athletic fields during dry periods. No change in pumping system is anticipated. 3. Limit of excavation and disturbance as defined on the plans to be defined by silt fence barrier. Akk Construction activity to remain within the silt fence area. 4. All excavated material to be removed from the worksite to an upland area or commercial pit. No disposal or stockpiling will be allowed in the wetlands area. 5. Temporary access road to be constructed of 8-12” of crushed stone base on a nonwoven geotextile suitable for the construction loads (MiRAFI 160N or Equal.) 6. Elevation of existing pond to be lowered by pumping prior to excavation to allow turbidity caused by excavation to remain in the pond area. Pipe Discharge to be in an upland area and to be treated with suitable BMP. 7. Plunge Pool to be constructed of NHDOT class B &C stone fill. Outlet into the pond to be at elevation 87.0 and be a minimum of 6’ wide. Top of pool wall to be at elevation 88.0. Top of stone barrier to be a minimum of 24” wide with 1:2 side slopes on both sides (Inside and outside plunge pool). 8. Equipment to be checked daily for fuel, lubricant, and hydraulic leaks and removed from the work area is any are discovered. No equipment will be allowed to be fueled within the wetland area and must be removed from the work area when not in use. See NHDES Fact Sheet WD-DWGB-22-6 for further Guidance. 9. Soil removed from the site must be contained by proper BMP’s to prevent water or windborne erosion of the material prior to any hauling or traveling on public ways from the site. A stabilized construction exit should be installed. Sweeping of paved roads may be necessary. 10. Disturbed areas not included in pond excavation to be seeded with approved commercial wetlands see mix per NHDES recommendations.
