Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of the project will generally consist of the following items: 1. DEMOLITION OF THE EXISTING TIMBER FISHING RAILINGS: The scope of work includes the demolition of the existing timber railings including the fasteners connecting the existing railings to the existing pier concrete structure as shown on the contract documents. 2. FILLING OF THE EXISTING BOLT HOLES AT THE DEMOLISHED TIMBER RAILINGS CONNECTION POINTS TO THE EXISTING CONCRETE DECK SLAB: The scope of work includes the filling of the above referenced existing bolt holes at the connection points of the demolished timber railing posts and curbs to the existing concrete deck slab as indicated on the contract documents. 3. REPAIR OF THE EXISTING SPALLS AT THE CONCRETE DECK SLAB: The scope of work includes the repair of existing spalls along the top and bottom surfaces of the concrete deck slab as shown on the contract documents. 4. REPAIR OF THE EXISTING SURFACE CRACKS AROUND THE EXISTING GROUT FILLED BLOCKOUTS/HOLES AT THE SLAB TO CONCRETE IBEAM CONNECTION POINTS: The scope of work includes the repair of the existing surface cracks between the existing concrete deck slab and the above referenced grout filled blockouts/holes as shown on the contract documents.5. REPAIR OF THE EXISTING CONCRETE DECK SURFACE CRACKS: The scope of work includes the repair of the existing surface cracks along the concrete deck slab as indicated on the contract documents. 6. NEW STEEL SUPPORT PLATES AND COMPRESSION SEALS AT EXISTING CONCRETE SLAB EXPANSION JOINTS: The scope of work includes the removal of existing deteriorated and dislocated compression seals along all the concrete slab expansion, installation of new steel support plates for the new compression seals along the existing expansion joint steel angles and installation of new compression seals at these joints as shown on the contract documents. 7. CLEANING OF ALL THE EXPOSED CONCRETE SURFACES INCLUDING THE CLEANING OF ALL THE CORRISION STAINS ALONG THE EXPOSED CONCRETE SURFACES: The scope of work includes the cleaning of all the exposed concrete surfaces as indicated on the contract documents. 8. APPLICATION OF SEALER ON THE EXISTING EXPOSED CONCRETE SURFACES ABOVE THE WATERLINE INCLUDING THE EXISTING CONCRETE DECK SLAB: The scope of work includes the application of sealer on the existing exposed concrete surfaces including the concrete deck slab surfaces as indicated on the construction documents. 9. INSTALLATION OF NEW ALUMINUM APPROACH RAILINGS: The scope of work includes the furnishing and installation of new aluminum approach railings along the first three spans of the main pier as shown on the contract documents. 10. INSTALLATION OF NEW ALUMINUM/TIMBER FISHING RAILINGS: The scope of work includes the furnishing and installation of new aluminum/timber fishing railings beyond the new Aluminum Approach Railings referenced above along the remaining portions of the pier as shown on the contract documents.
