Specifications include, but are not limited to: Tasks will include: Research and summarize what other states use for the poverty measure in their education funding formulas Document the challenges with the potential poverty measures and consider options to mitigate those challenges Work with RI DHS and other state agencies as needed to learn more about the state-administered need-based programs Consider the necessary steps for RIDE to gain access to the proposed data (updates to the data sharing agreements, etc.) Compare potential options to historical FRPL data to determine comparability or steps to achieve comparability Provide regular updates to RIDE staff in a timeline determined by RIDE Summarize the findings and recommendations in a report to submit with RIDE’s FY 2026 budget on October 1, 2024. Draft report should be prepared at least 8 weeks in advance of budget submission.
