Specifications include, but are not limited to: Laundry consists of two categories: personal and linen. Personal Laundry Will consist of, but not be limited to, the following: shirts, pants, blouses, dresses, socks, and undergarments. Personal laundry such as shirts, pants and jackets will be delivered hanging on hangers. Items such as socks and underwear will be folded. Linen Laundry Will consist of, but not be limited to, the following: flat and fitted sheets, mattress pads, bedspreads, blankets, comforters, pillowcases, bath towels, bathmats, washcloths, tablecloths, kitchen towels, aprons, dishcloths, napkins, bibs, cubicle curtains, dust mops, wet mops and cleaning cloths. Linen shall be returned to NMSVH washed, ironed (as specified when ordered) and folded. Any items erroneously sent for laundering will be returned by contractor to the NMSVH receptionist daily. Items that have historically been sent in error include, but are not limited to: dentures, eyeglasses, medication, hearing aids, bingo chips, canteen tokens, lottery tickets, id cards, wrist and pocket watches, rings, necklaces, rosaries, cigarettes, lighters, flatware, wallets, credit cards, checks, coins in average of twenty-five cents to two dollars, paper money in an average of three dollars to five dollars per day. The following items shall not be laundered, but shall be sent back to NMSVH: Pillows that belong to NMSVH or residents. Examples include, but are not limited to, slumber pillows, decorative pillows and resident personal pillows. Assistive devices, such as lift slings/hoists, heel protectors and hip protectors. Items found by the contractor(s) that need repair or replacement shall be returned to the NMSVH housekeeping department. Examples include items that are missing buttons, items with broken zippers, torn clothing, torn linen, items that have permanent stains, etc. The contractor(s) shall not dispose of any items. All linen, mops, dust mops and cleaning cloths must be thoroughly dried prior to delivery.
