Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Las Vegas Bomb Squad is the only FBI accredited bomb squad servicing all of Southern Nevada, Arizona, Utah and California bordering areas. The department is looking to equip the Bomb Squad with two Vapor Wake Explosive Detection dogs. These will be the first explosive detection canines for the Bomb Squad and will aid in filling the gap in capabilities for explosive detection in the Southern Nevada/Las Vegas area. Minimum Requirements: Bidders must be licensed by Auburn University’s Canine Performance Sciences program to perform Vapor Wake certifications/recertification. Bidders must be licensed to produce and sell Vapor Wake canines. Scope of Work - Successful Bidder will provide two Vapor Wake certified Explosive Detection canines. Successful Bidder will provide handler training and certification for two City of Las Vegas Bomb Squad personnel. Successful Bidder will have 120 days from award date to deliver two Vapor Wake certified canines, and complete training and certification of two handlers. Successful Bidder will provide bi-annual reinforcement training. Successful Bidder will provide annual re-certification. The performance period is 120 days from award date to complete acquisition of canines and complete handler training and certification, then three 1 year renewal options for reinforcement training and annual re-certification.
