Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide staff/volunteers, equipment and supplies (including medication and medical supplies) to house and care for an average of 4,000 to 6,000 animals annually, including but not limited to, cleaning kennels daily, feeding and care of animals. Accept and house all animals brought in by the City Animal Protection Officers and general public residing within the boundaries of the City of Gallup and McKinley County. Designate offerors point-of-contact to coordinate services with Animal Control/Shelter Veterinarian and to make management decisions for offeror. Provide phone and front desk coverage Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Provide cleaning, feeding and care of animals seven (7) days a week. Provide a means of disposition of animals after the required five (5) day holding period through adoption and animal transfer. Assist Animal Control in identifying animals that need to be euthanized for control of animal shelter. Evaluate the health, temperament, and behavior prior to adoption or transfer. Assist Shelter Veterinarian with evaluating the health of animals. Offer low-cost spay and neuter programs
