Specifications include, but are not limited to: MECHANICAL AND PLUMBING DESIGN SERVICES - A. Conceptual Design: Support project development by preparing feasibility studies which could involve the conceptual design and specifications of Mechanical Plumbing, and HVAC systems. Conceptual designs and specifications may include plumbing works, fixtures, piping systems, and mechanical equipment. C. Design Development: Further development of preliminary/conceptual design studies to determine design features including materials/equipment, details, and quantities. D. Estimation of projected construction costs: Statements of probable cost at all project phases. E. Construction Document Preparation: Preparation of bid documents including necessary plans and specifications conforming to Salt Lake City and applicable industry standards. Plans and specifications may include piping schematics and schedules, equipment datasheets and schedule, and instrumentation diagrams and schedules, and controls narratives. Preparation of technical specifications and modification of standard specifications included in the Manual of Specifications, as necessary. F. Coordinate with the City so ideas and knowledge of the area may be recorded while concepts are being developed. G. Attend formal meetings with the City departments, affected neighborhood councils and property owners during the design review process. H. As required, publish and distribute minutes of meetings within four days of the meeting. I. Design is subject to continual monitoring and evaluation. Design modifications are expected and shall not be cause for additional contract time or additional design cost. J. Preparation of plans and specifications and/or reports for the following: 1. HVAC systems – suitability and design. 2. Air pollution control systems. 3. Central Plants (Boiler and Chiller Plants). 4. Studies for energy conservation and evaluations of equipment, life cycle operations and maintenance costs. 5. Fire sprinkler systems. 6. Plumbing and piping systems. 7. Codes and Standards compliance review. 8. Construction material compatibility review. 9. Building storm water management. 10. Energy modeling. 11. Energy Management (data collection equipment/meters) Systems. 12. Any other related mechanical design services as directed by the City’s Representative.
