Specifications include, but are not limited to: replacing the failing steel structure and operating components of the gates including two electrically operated sliding gates, one inner manually operated swing gate and the staff guard shack. The gates need to be wider, higher, and spaced further apart to accommodate larger modern trucks with sleeper cabs. The driving surface needs to be regraded and replaced with thicker reinforced concrete to handle heavy truck traffic and to allow for better water drainage to prevent heaving footings and damage to steel structures. The guard shack needs new security windows and doors, siding, roofing, flooring, cabinet work, bathroom fixtures, high efficiency lighting, paint, HVAC, and security rated interior doors between the driver area and staff area. A new lockable storage room for drivers to store personal items that cannot go into the facility needs to be created within the footprint as well. To complete this project and maintain access to the facility for food provisions, waste removal, MINNCOR industry operations and facility supply deliveries a temporary access gate will need to be created. This gate will need to be in place for up to 12 months during construction and will need to be able accommodate any size truck as well as maintain the integrity and security of the perimeter fence. The temporary gate will need to include three manually operated swinging gates, electronic fence detection, a bollard and cable crash protection system, cameras, lights, a guard shack with bathroom facilities, and a small lockable storage room. It will also need to maintain the double barrier fence on all sides with razor wire. The temporary driving surface can be gravel but must be able to hold up to daily heavy truck traffic.
