Specifications include, but are not limited to: Identify public engagement and public relations programs or sections of State and Federal government offices who may assist the Vector Control Board with statewide vector control outreach strategy and implementation. • Coordinate with public engagement and public relations programs or sections of State and Federal government offices and assist the Information and Education Coordinator with statewide vector control outreach strategy and implementation • Develop an outreach strategy that: o Acknowledges how invasive species and emerging threats due to climate change threaten human health and Hawaiian lifestyles o Includes proposed branding and establishes a framework for procurement of necessary supplies to execute the outreach plan o Counters, addresses and dispels misinformation o Includes specific campaigns such as “Fight the Bite” but is also broader in scope o Includes the DOH’s ultimate purpose of “Keeping you healthy, protecting our way of life” as its primary theme o Links “One Health” Concepts to ground level activities in Hawaii o Identifies specific target audiences coupled with engagement frequencies and opportunities specifically for biocontrol activities (i.e. Wolbachia use) • Design graphics and content of informational outreach materials: o Development of fact brochures about available methods of vector borne disease suppression (pesticides, bio-pesticides, etc.). o Revision of the current website (https://health.hawaii.gov/vcb/)
