Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Most sites are saturated lowland dominated by Willow, Alder, and other brush species growing individually or in large clumps (1-6 inches diameter), in moderate to high density stands Scattered trees that may be present include Black Spruce, Tamarack, Balm of Gilead, and Ash 2. Some sites include upland edges or islands vegetated with a variety of brush species 2.9. Scattered trees that may be present include Aspen, Balsam Fir, Birch, and Maple 3. All shear blocks have areas of scattered mature trees (6-15 inches in diameter, dead or alive), generally most common along the wooded edges of blocks 3.9. Tree species under 4 inches diameter breast height (dbh) are considered brush Shearing Work Specifications: 1. Shear all woody vegetation (willow or aspen trees up to 4–6-inch diameter breast height (dbh) Within the delineated project sites On sufficiently frozen ground With a LGP dozer equipped with a KG style blade or equivalent 2. Scatter debris as reasonably allowed by the equipment specified for this project. No large debris piles will be allowed. 3. Uprooting of brush and trees will not be permitted unless otherwise approved in writing by the Project Supervisor. 4. Ensure the shear blade is sharp at all times. 5. Shearing will occur under sufficiently frozen ground conditions (as determined by the Project Supervisor) at ground level. 6. Operations shall cease and/or be suspended if significant rutting and soil disturbance occurs as determined by the Project Supervisor. 7. Complete shearing in accordance with specifications by March 23, 2025.The Project Supervisor reserves the right to adjust (reduce or extend) the contract completion deadline in accordance with ground conditions.
