Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. All debris which will interfere with cutting operations (such as wire, bottles, rocks, tin cans, sticks, paper and liter) shall be cleared from the area prior to beginning operations for the initial mow and all subsequent mowing. Accumulated trash and debris will be removed, hauled away from the town property, and properly disposed of. The contractor may not bring debris to the Transfer Station. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to remove all collected debris from each location. They may not use any dumpsters at any facility, and they may not blow material into the woods that may abut each property. 2. The cutting edges of all mowing equipment used in the performance of work shall be kept in sharp condition. Bruising or rough cutting of grass will not be accepted. 3. Mowers shall be of a type which causes clippings to be distributed evenly over the cut area. The grass and other vegetation cut will not be hauled off town property. Sycamore Hills Pool Area will require all mowing equipment to use a bagging system to avoid clippings from entering the pool during mowing or being carried in by users. 4. Countryside Park - The successful Contractor will be required to service the entire turf area that falls within the red outline. The yellow shaded area is to highlight the dam slope area that needs to be maintained on both sides of the covered bridge and the lower dam that will require the Contractor to have a smaller machine to be able to cross the foot bridge. The yellow highlighted area should be maintained at the same time as the other turf areas are. The Town cannot allow this area to fill in with weeds or woody vegetation. 5. Buckingham Open Space - The Town requires the slopes to be serviced on a weekly schedule to keep them even with the other turf areas. The successful Contractor may use string equipment in areas where it is too steep for a mower. The north slope is located along the Transfer Station property line from the playground to the end of the ballfield. The row of pine trees at the top of the hill defines the property line. Three times per season (once in the spring, once in mid-summer and once in the fall), the Contractor shall remove all woody undergrowth by cutting, and mowing or trimming the grass on the slope. No chemicals shall be used on the north slope because the grass cover is essential to prevent erosion of the hillside.
