Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor will provide the required tug during winter months and conduct prop-washing at the requested time and dates. • The Port will determine when and where prop-washing is required and coordinate with the contractor to schedule. Timeframes for beginning work will differ and will depend on Ship arrivals and departures. • The Contractor shall start prop-wash sediment removal operations one hour before low tide and continue until one hour after low water for optimum coverage. • The tugboat used for prop-wash sediment operations shall have a minimum of 3,500 horsepower. • The contractors shall attach the line from the tug to the bollards on the dock prior to starting the prop-wash dredging. • The contractor shall supply wooden softeners to protect lines where the lines cross the dock. • Port of Alaska Contact: Port Operations Superintendent: 907-343-6202; Alternate Contact: Main Line: 907-343-6200
