Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Applicant will create a safe, culturally appropriate, child- and familyfriendly space, and work with WCF on identifying incarcerated individuals who have children who are 17 years old or younger. Individuals must also be approved by WCF staff to participate in the pilot. The type of services would include the following: a. Programs are age and developmentally appropriate in communicating with the child on their parent’s incarceration, prison policies on visiting rules or policies and address trauma during the period of parent’s incarceration. b. Programs are child-centered, designed to meet their unique needs based-on families’ strengths, interests, health, and well-being. c. Programs facilitate parent in incarceration’s relationship to children and role as an active parent in the child’s life. d. Programs offer parenting classes, support groups, and other supportive services to teach positive and effective ways parents can interact with their children and acquire the skills needed to build healthy families and communities. e. Programs shall utilize Limited English Proficiency (LEP) interpreter services and Sign Language as needed at the expense of the Provider.
