Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this RFP/Event (Solicitation) is to receive responses and award contracts to multiple vendors to provide consecutive Face to Face Spoken Language Interpreting Services for all State Agencies and any eligible Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV) Members (collectively, “Requesting Agencies”) throughout the State of Minnesota where Limited English Proficiency (LEP) services are needed. Simultaneous interpreting services are not part of the scope of this RFP. Requesting Agencies needing simultaneous interpreting services will need to procure from a source other than any subsequent contracts established from this RFP/Event process. The State provides onsite face-to-face spoken language interpreting services to meet the needs of populations served by State Agencies for whom English is not the primary language. The State is seeking qualified individuals and/or firms to provide consecutive face-to-face spoken language interpreting services for a variety of languages, including Amharic, Arabic, Burmese, Cambodian, Cantonese, Chinese, Creole (French and Spanish), French, Hmong, Karen, Korean, Laotian, Mandarin, Oromo, Russian, Somali, Spanish, and Vietnamese. There are 400+ languages spoken in Minnesota, and languages of lesser diffusion are an essential part of providing meaningful access. The Solicitation is intended to provide consecutive interpreting to meet the needs of all State Agencies and is not limited to any specific category or field. The Solicitation will be used to establish Contracts for the consecutive interpreting services for general community, health, and court/legal services in the form of pre-scheduled in person (face-to-face), prescheduled Video Conferencing (State approved MS Teams, WebEx), and sight/speech interpreting of written text. Over the Phone (OPI) Telephone based interpreting and Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) are on a separate State Contract and are NOT included in this RFP/Event (Solicitation).
