Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Sewage Treatment Division of the Public Works & Utilities Department is soliciting bids for the transportation of Biosolids from the Water Resource Recovery Facility (Plant 2) located at 2305 East 57th Street South to various agricultural sites where the City will apply the Biosolids. The contract will specify a unit price for the transportation of Biosolids generated by the Sewage Treatment Division. The result of the bids will be to develop a primary hauler and a secondary hauler list. The lowest, qualified bid received will be awarded the primary hauler contract. If, for any reason, the primary hauler is unable to provide the amount of services needed on a day in which Biosolids must be hauled, secondary haulers will be called in order of lowest bid to highest bid received until sufficient hauling capacity is found to perform the task. Secondary haulers will be used as a supplement to the primary contract holder. A request for services of the secondary hauler in no way transfers the primary contract responsibilities to the secondary service provider or away from the primary service provider. Repeated inability to provide service by the primary contract holder will be viewed as a breach of contract and will lead to contract termination proceedings. The successful bidders will agree to furnish all equipment, supplies, labor, superintendence, permits, license, etc. that may be required to effect the work.
