Specifications include, but are not limited to: The successful firm must be able show demonstrated competence and qualifications in the following areas: 1. Awareness and understanding of the United States Congress and its history; 2. Bi-partisan experience and expertise; 3. Experience with House and Senate political procedures; 4. Excellent working relationships with current House and Senate Leadership to achieve University’s goals and objectives; 5. Experience in securing appropriations and understanding how it relates to the University’s goals and objectives. 6. Experience with securing federal grants; 7. Experience with securing research related grants; 8. Experience in consultant service issues related to transportation needs; 9. Experience in government representation, regulatory and administrative counsel; 10. Experience in lobbying strategies; 11. Experience with higher education institutions; 12. Experience with federal appropriations process, and knowledge of how to work effectively with the various appropriations committees and special timelines; 13. Experience with executive branch departments and agencies that afford funding opportunities for the University.
