Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) Safe and Healthy Schools (SHS) team is looking for information about school safety products in the areas of building construction and design, transportation safety, technology systems (audio, emergency notification, etc.), crisis response systems, physical health (kits, supplies, etc.), mental health supports, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), and bullying prevention. While there is no current legislation regarding these areas of interest, the SHS team is exploring services that are being utilized in the field and gathering information around what is available to schools. This could assist USBE staff when providing feedback to local education agencies (LEAs) concerning school safety products. Presentations are attended by members of the SHS team and other USBE staff to whom presentations may be of interest. In order to provide equitable opportunities for interested vendors, the following parameters are in place: ● We ask that vendors not directly contact specialists. Shaleece Oldroyd is the point of contact for safe and healthy schools vendors. ● This is not a process to become a USBE approved safe and healthy schools vendor (there is no such process in place at this time). ● Repeat product presentations are not being scheduled at this time. ● Follow-up meetings are not permitted. ● As this is a Request for Information (RFI), COST CANNOT BE DISCUSSED DURING PRESENTATIONS or registration communication. The intentional violation may result in not being eligible for future solicitations. ● No contract or purchase will be made as a result of these presentations.
