Specifications include, but are not limited to: Each 12” Round Polymer meter box and lid will be installed in incidental traffic areas by the City of Yuma staff and not be installed in roadways. a. The boxes and lids must be proven to withstand vertical and lateral load testing compliant with AASHTO, Design Load of H-10; ASTM C 857-95, Design Load of A-8, 8,000 lbs. transferred through a 10” x 10” steel plate centered in the cover and body. b. Compliant with AASHTO, Design Load of H-20; ASTM C 857-95, Design Load of A-16, 16,000 lbs. transferred through a 10” x 20” steel plate centered on the cover and body. c. Meter Box shall be black and constructed out of modified polyethylene material for maximum durability and corrosion resistance. The black material is for maximum UV protection. The black material shall be uniform throughout the Meter Box for maximum longevity and not have a foaming agent that creates air pockets within the plastic wall. d. Round lids are to have a mounting bracket for slide-in placement of Badger® Orion ME or Cellular Endpoint. e. All specified Boxes and Lids must be proven to withstand soil conditions typically found in a desert environment with temperatures that exceed 115 degrees Fahrenheit during summer months. Purchases and quantities throughout the contract will vary, boxes with lids and lids only. 2. Polymer #2 Meter box lid only. a. The Polymer lid shall conform to Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Detail #315 dimensions. b. The Polymer #2 Meter box lid only for existing concrete meter box shall fit flush with the top of the existing concrete box and have adequate bearing on the seat. c. Lids are to be precut with a molded slot for lifting, 1/2” x 1 1/2”. Lids are to have “WATER” molded into the lid, letters to be no less than 1” in size. Lids are to have a molded tread or textured for non-slip/skid resistance. Tread or texture dimensions are to be no less than 0.100” deep and no greater than 0.150” deep. d. Lids are to have a mounting bracket molded in for slide-in placement of Badger® Orion ME or Cellular Endpoint. e. The lid must be detectable utilizing a Ferromagnetic Locator. The detectable material must not interfere with the RF signal transmission of the Badger® Orion ME or Cellular Endpoint. 3. Polymer #4 Meter box lid only. a. The Polymer lid shall conform to (MAG) Detail #315 dimensions. b. The Polymer #4 Meter box lid only for existing concrete meter boxes shall fit flush with the top of the existing concrete box and have adequate bearing on the seat. c.
