Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide centralized and efficient space for the Physical Plant. The new site is to provide transformative space supporting its service mission while providing a welcoming space for employees and visitors of San Juan College. These goals will be established through the following: • create a clear transaction destination for campus customers supporting all physical plant departments • provide offices or dedicated workspace for staff members in the locations best suited to their needs • create efficient circulation patterns that support safe pedestrian and vehicle traffic at different scales (golf carts, semi-trucks, cars, etc.) • provide defined and safe storage of materials necessary for each department • create storage for golf carts with charging stations • create storage for motor pool vehicles with a wash bay • consolidate most Physical Plant departments into one location within campus outside of the educational core; accessible off Pinion Hills • provide large truck access eliminating cross traffic with pedestrians • establish a space layout that promotes efficiency for the workflow of employees on-site • update building features necessary for the safety and accessibility of employees and visitors
