Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Farmington is seeking the professional services of an engineering firm or firms to design sidewalk ADA improvements on E Main Street between Hill St and Butler Ave. Must comply with ADA improvements per the 2019 NMDOT T/LPA Handbook, 2019 NMDOT Highway and Bridge Specifications, City of Farmington Specifications and PROWAG for pedestrian facilities which includes sidewalks, accessibility ramps, pedestrian push buttons at intersections, etc. The project will be to provide survey, design, specification, all required certification, public meetings, environmental documents, ROW acquisition and other related services. The firm determined to be the most qualified will complete the engineering services with the option to have the firm complete ROW and construction administration contingent on future funding and Council approval. East Main Street in Farmington has portions of the pedestrian facilities that do not have a delineated walking area and other areas have sidewalks that are 3-4 feet wide with various obstructions. We are proposing to install 5 feet sidewalks for the entire length of the project and replace all non-compliant accessibility ramps previously installed that do not meet current ADA requirements and/or the PROWAG guidelines. A 4 feet wide clear path will be provided in areas that have obstructions and buffers between the street and sidewalk will be provided in areas where right-of-way allows.
