Specifications include, but are not limited to: Category 1.a – General Civil Engineering Design This category includes professional services for a variety of projects throughout the City of Moscow that may involve urban multi-modal roadway design and/or utility improvements or replacements. Many streets, water lines, and sewer mains within the City of the Moscow are in need of repair or reconstruction due to their age. When deemed prudent and cost-effective, roadway reconstruction or re-surfacing projects will include underground utility upgrades within the project limits. Likewise, extensive utility upgrade projects often prompt the rehabilitation or full reconstruction of deficient roadways. Qualified firms will be required to perform all necessary field and office work to prepare plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates to City of Moscow or other Public Agency Standards, and work collaboratively with City and/or other funding agency personnel. Design services requested may include the following: • Land Surveying- property and/or topographic • Roadway design • Storm sewer design • Sanitary sewer design • Sanitary sewer lift station rehabilitation design • Water system design • Design of bikeways • ADA compliant pedestrian facilities • Parking facility design Other tasks and duties may be assigned as necessary. Category 2.a – Water Supply and Operations Engineering The City of Moscow maintains miles of water main and numerous wells, water supply reservoirs, and booster stations. This category involves engineering design and technical services relating to maintaining and improving water supply and system operation. The consultant may be required to prepare technical memorandums, engineering studies, design reports, surveys, and/or plans and specifications for projects involving: • Water system analysis/modeling • Selection and specification of municipal well pumps and appurtenances • Replacement, rehabilitation, or expansion of well facilities • Pressure regulation stations and valves • Chlorination facilities • Storage reservoir site selection and site planning Other tasks and duties may be assigned as necessary.
