Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Inventory, segregate, pack, classify, code, label, document, remove, transport, and dispose of the chemicals and other laboratory wastes, including hazardous laboratory wastes that result from the activities of TCEQ facilities, primarily Monitoring Division laboratories and Water Quality Planning Division laboratory in Austin, TX and the WQPD laboratory in Sugar Land, TX. Disposal of laboratory waste must be at the ultimate disposal facility for the laboratory waste, not at a temporary storage facility. This includes the following items and others (without limitation) to be included in the laboratory waste to be removed by the Contractor: organic and inorganic standards; unused chemicals; PCB standards; elemental mercury and mercury clean-up debris; compressed gas cylinders and any contents; laboratory wastes from laboratory procedures; environmental samples; contaminated glassware; universal laboratory waste including batteries; used oil. 2. Sample and test (perform chemical identification/analysis/sampling) laboratory waste streams to identify and classify the laboratory waste for the purpose of treatment/disposal if such laboratory waste streams are of unknown concentrations or identifications to TCEQ. If the Work Order does not indicate that testing should be done and the Contractor believes that testing should be done, the Contractor will indicate in its Work Plan (WP) that testing must be performed to identify, classify, and code the laboratory waste. The Contractor must conduct each analysis under standard turn-around time of 10 business days. 3. Consolidate laboratory waste as appropriate. The Contractor will not consolidate incompatible laboratory wastes. If the TCEQ facility for which the Contractor disposes laboratory waste is a Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generator (CESQG), as defined in 40 CFR Part 262, the Contractor must not consolidate the laboratory waste in a way that would cause the amounts or characteristics of laboratory waste to equal or exceed the threshold for TCEQ being a CESQG under state and federal laws, including regulations. 4. Complete all documents and applications required by regulatory agencies and disposal companies.
