Specifications include, but are not limited to: The town engineer will provide support to the Planning and Development Department in reviewing proposed developments and conducting inspections during construction and post-construction. Through the Public Works Department, the town engineer will provide engineering oversight and design of municipal building, parks and infrastructure projects. The following provides a brief listing of types of tasks and is not intended to be all-inclusive. Planning and Development Conduct drainage, traffic and other reviews for site plan, special permit, and wetland permit applications and prepare written reports for the respective commissions. Participate in pre-construction meetings. Inspect projects during construction and after construction as required. Review roads recommended for town acceptance. Attend evening commission meetings when required. Public Works Provide engineering design services for municipal building, road, drainage and other projects, including construction drawings, specifications, estimates, contract administration, and project inspections. Assist with the permitting process for municipal projects. Assist in the bidding of projects. Provide engineering support to public works construction and maintenance of community infrastructure. Reviews construction plans for compliance with town policies, standards, ordinances and sound engineering design.
