Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Furnish all labor, materials and equipment necessary to provide a turn-key elevator modernization of the existing elevator in the Durham Water Resource Recovery Facility Solids Building. The Project will replace all elements of the elevator with the exception of the hydraulic plunger or jack, buffers, guide rails, upper metal panels of car enclosure, the car ceiling, car frame assembly less guides, and a portion of the cab floor. The Work includes but is not limited to the following items: a. Remove and dispose of the existing elevator drive system and controller, cab and hoistway doors with all associated actuators, sensors, tracks and linkages, car operating panels. Remove and dispose of all existing hydraulic fluid. Remove and dispose of existing wall fixtures and panels, signal devices and display devices, including all wiring and conductors except as noted below. b. Furnish and install a new hydraulic elevator drive system with microproccesor controls, valves, hydraulic fluid, and piping, car slide guides for a complete and fully-functional installation performed by individuals certified to perform the prescribed work. c. Furnish and install new car and hoistway doors, frames, guides, linkages and linkage assemblies, operators, sensors, switches, and wiring as required for a complete and fully-functional installation. d. Furnish and install new impact resistance panels for the lower f eet of elevator cab walls to replace existing plywood. New high impact panels to have a 1” thickness to match existing. Refurbish upper metal panels to remove dents, scratches, and scrapes then prepare, prime, and paint all panels with durable enamel paint. e. While all panels are removed and car frame is accessible for inspection, perform inspection to verify the condition and integrity of car frame. Provice written report as to any findings. f. Replace a minimum of four feet of the diamond plate flooring from entry way including entire toe guard. Thickness to match existing. g. Confirm the suitability of the existing power wiring from Motor Control Center to the disconnect in the machine room for the hydraulic power unit. Replace the conductors, conduit, breaker, overloads, and disconnect if required. h. Replace the electrical components associated with the elevator operation and control as needed to comply with current building and electrical codes to provide a turn-key solution. i. Existing conduit and raceway may be re-used where in good condition. j. Replace all existing smoke detectors and associated wiring and controls for the Freight elevator. k. Apply for, purchase, and acquire all necessary building, electrical, and mechanical permits for all authorities having jurisdication. l. Provide control outputs for the elevator common alarm consisting of fire/smoke detection and elevator fail for connection to Owner’s SCADA network. Coordinate with Owner to complete terminations. m. Dispose of all materials, components and fluids removed during the demolition of the existing elevator. n. Furnish, install, and maintain all equipment, materials, barriers, and other items necessary as part of the required Project safety plan during the construction period.
