Specifications include, but are not limited to: Fort Wayne Public Works Division is seeking qualified engineering consultants to provide engineering services and assistance for a 10 foot wide asphalt trail (1.8 miles in length) on the north side of Stellhorn Road from 266 feet east of Maplecrest Road to 510 feet west of Wheelock Road. Trail has already been constructed from Maplecrest Road to the entrance of Stellhorn Village and in front of the new Lutheran Medical Facility. Trail will be constructed in 2024 from Wheelock Road to 510 feet west to existing driveway at parsonage as part of the Wheelock Road Trail project. Trail shall be designed taking into mind the future widening of Stellhorn Road (see attached roadway redesign concept report). Preliminary concept drawings of the road widening are included as an attachment. Trail will be designed incorporating context sensitive design principles and include drainage, park benches every half mile approximately, MUTCD signage and traffic signal upgrades. Additional right-of-way will be needed for this project. All right-of-way engineering will need to be included as part of these engineering services. Land acquisition services will be performed by City of Fort Wayne personnel. It is also anticipated that permitting will need to be completed for the project.
