Specifications include, but are not limited to: Tree Services 1. Contractor shall provide all required labor, materials, tools, equipment, vehicles, transportation, labor and supervision to perform all required and requested tree services. 2. Contractor shall provide vehicles and equipment that shall be able to access any areas that present a diverse range of accessibility situations. a. Each vehicle must be certified annually as safe for non-conductivity of electricity at the cost of the Contractors. b. Aerial Lift Trucks must have articulating upper and lower booms and be capable of reaching heights of approximately fifty-five (55) feet about the ground. 3. Contractor shall have in their possession or available to them trucks, devices, chippers, stump grinders, trailers, hand tools and other equipment and supplies which are necessary to perform the services as outlined in these specifications. 4. Contractor, upon request from the City, shall be available to perform tree removal services. a. Contractors shall use appropriate selection and application of tree removal techniques which maximize safety and efficiency. The type of trees requiring removal may vary with regard to species, sizes, conditions, locations, and quantities. b. Contractor shall remove trees designated by City. c. When requested by City, Contractor shall make arrangements to treat stumps to prevent sprouting. Contractor shall be responsible for eliminating sprouts that occur within twelve (12) months of stump removal and any related expenses. 5. Contractor shall, upon request by City, perform stump removal after tree is cut down. Stump removal shall include stump grinding and may include mulch removal and stump poisoning as approved by City. a. Contact Blue Stakes for location of underground utilities prior to removing a stump. i. Blue Stakes of Utah 811 Notification Center is the statewide association to contact to have underground utility lines located and marked before commencing any excavation. This is a FREE service which is funded by participating member facility owners. b. Contractor is responsible for stump removal, which shall occur simultaneously to ensure public safety. c. Contractor will handle stumps, root flares and surface lateral removal which must be to a minimum depth of twenty-four (24) inches below grade to accommodate planting of a new tree. Grade is the elevation of surrounding soi that has not been displace by the tree and the tree roots.
