Specifications include, but are not limited to: Expansion of Little River Animal & Environmental Unit (LRAEU) facilities needed for the dairy unit. Construction of new feed bin areas that include open structures, site infrastructure, and equipment. Includes all related work. Project details include: the construction of structural concrete slabs for the installation of prefabricated metal grain and feed bins. A total of four prefabricated metal bins will be installed and range in size from 33' diameter, 27' diameter and (2) 9'-diameter. Site work will include grading and utility (water and electrical) infrastructure. New equipment will also be purchased for roaster, auger system, hammermill, and pneumatic conveying system. The Little River Animal Unit will upgrade its dairy research capabilities. The Middle Tennessee AgResearch in Spring Hill has closed its dairy and relocated its herd to the Little River Facility. Feed and Grain storage capacity will not accommodate new herd size and requires additional storage capacity provided by this new project. Construction activity will have an impact on farm activities and events and will require detailed coordination with the Center Director
