Specifications include, but are not limited to: The ND Department of Agriculture is seeking proposals for the successful completion of an in-depth analysis of North Dakota’s agriculture’s economic contribution and impact throughout the state. The primary scope is to conduct a study on the economic contribution of agriculture to the state of North Dakota. Once completed, breakout economic contribution from agriculture to each county economy and to provide a comprehensive report. The contribution study must first evaluate economic contribution of agriculture on the state level, then break out contribution to each of the 53 counties that make up North Dakota. The contribution study must evaluate and report on the current economic contribution of the agriculture segment in the form of output, value added, jobs supported, taxes paid, and indirect benefits. The economic impact study must include direct, indirect, and induced factors of North Dakota agriculture industry. This analysis will be used to: Increase the credibility and visibility of the agriculture industry in the eyes of policymakers, the business community, the media, and the general public; Make clear the substantial economic contribution agriculture makes to the region both in terms of employment and expenditures and in terms of tax revenues; Identify the range of services and other contributions the agriculture industry is making to the region; Underline the dynamic nature of this industry and its contribution to rural communities and the state; Give policymakers a better basis for policy decisions affecting the industry
