Specifications include, but are not limited to: Structure Demo The Contractor is to demolish the old sign shop and lean-to/car port structures, including foundations, concrete slabs, asphalt floors, and adjoining improvements (curb and gutter, barrier wall, etc) along the south property line. Prior to demolition, the Contractor will need to acquire a permit from the State of Utah Department of Environmental Quality. The Contractor is responsible for disconnecting the utilities from these buildings, including power, gas, water, and telecommunications as necessary. All materials from the project required to be removed become the property of the Contractor and are to be disposed of in an approved landfill. The Contractor is to follow the instructions and notes as outlined in the construction drawings. Utilities Install the sewer, water line and storm drain utilities as shown and highlighted in the construction drawings. Connect to existing utilities as noted on the plans. Utility locations identified on the construction drawings are approximate and the Contractor is responsible to field verify all existing utility locations. All excavated materials from the utility installation become the property of the Contractor and are to be disposed of in an approved landfill. All pipe zone material and trench backfill must be imported and approved by the engineer prior to placement. Any utility shut offs are to be coordinated with personnel inside the neighboring office building. A preconstruction meeting is required prior to beginning work. Coordinate with Public Works and Public Utilities for inspections as necessary. SWPPP The contractor will be required to have a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for the project. The Contractor will be required to employ Best Management Practices (BMP’s), specifically storm drain inlet protection, vehicle tracking, concrete washout, construction fencing, etc. Miscellaneous The Contractor may need to acquire a road cut permit from Sandy City Public Works (no-cost). A traffic control plan is required prior to obtaining any permits. The Contractor is required to hire their own surveyor for construction staking and mark locations for utility installation. Submittals are required on all materials used on the project and must be approved before use. The Contractor is also responsible for arranging and providing all materials testing on the project (see Sandy City standards and specifications for tests required and testing frequency). Work is only allowed between the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Saturday unless otherwise approved by the engineer.
