Specifications include, but are not limited to: phased construction of an expansion and partial renovation of the Ekstrom Library on the University of Louisville’s Belknap Campus.; The addition consists of an expansion to the lower level, first, and second floors on the south side of the building. The addition will house the following programs: • Lower Level: A new location to store and maintain the McConnell Center Archives. This new location will increase their overall storage capacity with additional high-density storage shelving and meet Archive Standards for proper storage. • First Floor: An expansion of existing student study spaces. • Second Floor: Office Suite which includes four offices and four workstations for Technical Services employees.; The renovation consists of ~6,000SF of modifications to the lower level in the following areas: • Technical Services Area: A portion of the Technical Services area will be modified to allow for the Library’s Special Collections (Consists of high-density storage shelving, currently housed in Rm LL70) to be relocated within the Technical Services Area. • Offices for the McConnell Center Archives: The existing McConnell Archives center offices and processing spaces will be renovated and expanded into existing LL70.
