Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Equipment should be designed to safely accommodate large numbers of participants. Extra consideration will be given for equipment that serves participants with all levels of disabilities. Extra consideration will also be placed on equipment designed for the ability of a person to stay in a wheelchair to use a play feature. The playground area is approximately 10,000 square feet. (See attached layout ). Note: Site amenities such as benches, trash cans, etc. are included in the park plans and should not be included with playground proposals 2. Base proposals must include installation of playground mulch surfacing. As an alternate pour-in-place surfacing may be submitted with each proposal. Unit pricing for surfacing must be provided. The City reserves the right to add or remove surface type quantities as part of the final accepted proposal. 3. Shade is a high priority and should be designed accordingly. 4. Play equipment that are encouraged to be included: Swings, Zip Lines, Slides, climbers, etc. Note: The original owners of the property flew a small general aviation airplane and used this property as an airstrip, so aviation-themed features will be considered a plus during evaluation. The City does not, however, want the entire playground to be aviation-themed. 5. Posts may be of your choosing but must be a minimum of galvanized steel with powder coating or acceptable equal (to be determined by the City). No wood products or recycled plastic will be accepted. 6. All metal surfaces of structure must be industry approved paint. Colors will be selected by the City after award of contract. 7. Tamper-proof stainless bolts are preferred as is a bolt through system. However, overall considerations will outweigh either. (If your best system is a clamp system, please propose clamp).
