Commerce’s energy grant programs are designed to increase Minnesotans’ access to energy efficiency and renewable energy through innovation, education, and technical and financial assistance. The Justice 40 (J40) Initiative is an important component of all federal funding opportunities released under the federal IIIJA and the IRA funding programs. Commerce supports J40 goals and values projects which will deliver positive impacts to disadvantaged communities (DACs) facing energy affordability and economic disparity challenges.
