Specifications include, but are not limited to: In general, work includes installation of woven wire fencing, posts, gates, and gravel paving in section 3 of Washington Jefferson Park in the City of Eugene. The project area is currently secured with free standing temporary chain link fencing along the back of curb and shall remain in place during execution of the work. Contractor may reposition portions of the temporary fence to include the on-street parking spaces along 5th Avenue for contractor staging and access purposes provided the change in fencing configuration is submitted as part of the traffic control plan and narrative submittal. A majority of the work is for the installation of a four foot tall woven wire fence along the inside edge of concrete path in the park’s interior. Line posts for fencing include perforated square steel winged posts as well as top and bottom 2”x6” horizontal rails. Two 10 foot by 15 foot rectangular enclosures (otherwise known as sally ports) shall be included in the work described as fencing. Sally ports shall include two openings with gates on opposite sides of the sally port enclosure. Pressure treated square wood posts shall be used at all corners and at either side of each pedestrian gate for the sally ports. Steel line posts may be used as intermediates for the 8 foot minimum spacing requirement for fencing. Top and bottom 2”x6” horizontal rails shall be included with the sally ports’ fencing. One 10 foot wide maintenance gate shall be installed at the north-west corner of the fenced enclosure. It shall include two sets of 10x10 square pressure treated posts on either side, set in concrete. The contractor shall be responsible for installing gravel paving in locations specified on the plans and work shall include the removal and disposal of sod and soil to a 4 inch depth prior to placement of gravel. Gravel shall be ¾” minus crushed quarry rock, graded level and lightly compacted. Minor irrigation repairs and head repositioning shall be completed with the work. Any irrigation heads removed shall be returned to the City of Eugene. All lateral lines affected by the work shall be tested prior to backfill. All irrigation work shall comply with City of Eugene standard specifications and standard details. All work performed shall meet the related industry’s highest standards. All posts and rails shall be installed plumb and level. The work required for this project is subject to Oregon State BOLI wage requirements.
