Specifications include, but are not limited to: The work to be performed includes excavating and/or shoveling trenches and repairing sanitary sewer laterals in these trenches. Or, depending on the situation, it may consist of pipe lining instead. Most excavated lateral repairs are between 6 and 10 feet deep, and less than 10 feet long. Pipe lining has ranged in length from 7 feet up to 35 feet. Further statistics are available on the next page. All work must be done under a plumbing permit from St. Louis County. The City of Des Peres measures and inspects all work and will calculate the final bill. A sample spreadsheet is included at the end of this document. Administrative Requirements 1. Located within reasonable proximity to the City of Des Peres in order to respond the same day for emergency repairs. 2. Agree to accept payment per established bid schedule 3. Provide workers compensation insurance per Missouri State requirements 4. Have current plumbers/drain layers license with St. Louis County 5. Obtain County Permit (City Permit waived) 6. Provide certificate of insurance in minimum amount of $1,000,000 7. Post $10,000 performance bond annually 8. Provide a written 3 year guarantee for each project 9. Pay prevailing wage rates as established by State of MO & provide affidavit; Construction Requirements 1. Comply with all OSHA requirements, including proper shoring 2. Never completely close any street without permission of, and coordination with the City of Des Peres Public Works Department. 3. Locate all utilities with Missouri One-Call prior to digging 4. Backfill all street and sidewalk areas with rock. 5. Jet all excavation after backfilling or compact in 12" lifts. All large excavated boulders (bigger than 12") shall be removed and not used for backfill.
