Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. General: The intent of these provisions is to establish a firm price to The University of Tennessee at Martin (hereinafter called the University) for the complete maintenance and repair, including all labor and materials on the attached elevators located at The University of Tennessee at Martin, Martin, Tennessee 38238. Bidders shall bid on furnishing all necessary labor, supplies, repair parts, materials, tools, and equipment to examine as set forth in these bidding documents and to make all the necessary repairs which are caused by the wear and tear of normal operations to the elevators. Mechanics making repairs on the elevators shall have at least (5) years experience at repairing such equipment. The contractor shall make these examinations and repairs under the direction and to the entire satisfaction of the authorized representative of the University. 2. Equipment Examinations: Examinations are to include cleaning, oiling, greasing, adjusting, repairing, and replacing parts as conditions require and before the factor of safety has been dangerously reduced on any part of the entire elevator equipment including: a. Equipment Drive Machines : All component parts thereof including, but not limited to worms, gears, all bearings, drive sheaves, brakes, brake shoes, wiring and packing or seals. b. Equipment Motors: All component parts thereof including, but not limited to windings, armatures, commutators, brushes, bearings, wiring, motor resistance equipment and related circuits, timing devices, switches, sensors, fuses, rectifiers, power supplies and wiring. c. Governors: All component parts thereof including, but not limited to bearings, sheaves, jaws, operating linkage, and switches. d. Hoist Way Equipment: All component parts installed as part of and in conjunction with the elevator systems including, but not limited to deflector sheaves, secondary valves, bearings, guide rails, car and/or counterweight roller guides, limit switches and emergency slow down switches. e. Hoist Way Wiring and Cables : All hoist way and car wiring, to include but not limited to traveling cables, conduit and fittings. f. Hoist Way Pits and Overhead Areas: Including, but not limited to deflector sheaves, secondary sheaves, tension sheaves, buffers and listed equipment wiring. g. Hoist Way Doors: All component parts including, but not limited to door motors, locks, hangers, linkage, door closers, gibs, door closure and door protective devices. h. Hall Operating Stations and Signal Fixtures: Including, but not limited to all internal parts of the hall operating stations, position indicators, direction arrows, arrival lanterns and gongs, and related wiring.
