Specifications include, but are not limited to: The District is seeking Requests for Proposals (RFP) for Tutoring contractors to address middle school mathematics (the Program). The purpose of the program is to move middle school students who have scored at Performance Level 3 in math to proficiency (Performance Level 4 or 5) based on the Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP). Due to the unfinished learning that was caused by the pandemic, the District endeavors to address the unfinished learning and improve the performance of students of color, English Language Learners, Students with Disabilities, and students experiencing poverty. According to Robinson and Loeb (2021), research consistently demonstrates that tutoring interventions have substantial positive effects on student learning. As a result, tutoring has emerged as a promising strategy for addressing COVID-related learning loss and affording greater educational opportunities for students living in poverty
