Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Daily Access: From Tuesday, December 26, 2023 through Tuesday, January 16th, 2024. Arrive at collection locations by 9:00AM, grind, compact or remove trees such that there is adequate room at the site to receive the trees that will be dropped off during the unattended hours. If there is adequate room, no grinding, compacting or tree moving will be necessary. 2. Daily Debris and Litter: Pick up trash and other debris at the site and dispose of it properly. Trash barrels will be at all locations and must be emptied by the contractor regularly to provide the public disposal options for plastic tree bags, rope, twine, etc., from Tuesday, December 26th , 2023 through Tuesday, January 16th, 2024. The City of Omaha advertises and works with volunteers to encourage residents to take bags home for disposal however this typically meets with only limited success. 3. Trash disposal: Adequate and lawful trash and debris collection and disposal is required from the sites. The trash barrels from item two above must be linked with a means of emptying, consolidating, and disposing of the material. Trash disposal Plan A: The successful bidder will provide a minimum of one (1), twenty (20) cubic yard, or larger roll-off container at Tranquility Park North. Additional roll-off containers could be placed at the other sites except the Zoo. Trash barrels will be emptied into these/this roll-off container(s). Trash barrels from sites without a roll-off will need to be transported by the contractor to the roll-off container. Sites cannot be left without trash barrels for any period of time. It is the contractor’s responsibility to provide the means of transporting the material from the trash disposal, including collection and disposal costs, at the sites. The City cannot control illegal dumping that may occur when using an open top roll-off container. When the roll-off containers become full, they must be emptied so the trash barrels may be emptied. If the City requests a container be emptied because it is full, the successful bidder will have 24- hours to comply. Stipulated Penalties of $150 per 24-hour period or fraction thereof will apply to compensate the City for taking responsibility of trash that is generated during those periods upon failure to comply.
