Specifications include, but are not limited to: The grant writing consultant will provide grant writing services to the City of New Haven Department of Community Resilience that will generally consist of: (1) identifying state, federal, foundation, or private grants that may be available to sustain and expand our work; and (2) preparing and submitting grant proposals with the assistance of Community Resilience Department staff and any partners involved. Applicants with prior experience or expertise in federal grants including from SAMHSA, BJA, and HUD are encouraged to apply. To accomplish this, the Consultant will: 1. Work with the City of New Haven Department of Community Resilience to understand project objectives, analyze needs for grant funding, and review the specific request proposals from the grant funder in detail. 2. Conduct research to identify potential public and private funding sources in coordination with the Department of Community Resilience team members, producing a table of potential sources with key characteristics of each opportunity (scope, funder focus, submission timeline, other requirements) and supporting information. 3. Develop a detailed work plan to track grants and required components of the grant applications to ensure the completeness of applications. Define the roles of the grant writer and the New Haven Department of Community Resilience client agency to complete all requirements for the application.
