Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide stone repair, stone epoxy work, and regrouting of stone segments. Patsy Mink Sculpture Base The Patsy Mink sculpture located in front of the Hawaii State Library is mounted on a base comprised of a concrete block with a stone panel façade (see attachment, Pictures of Patsy Mink Base). Skaters have damaged the joints that hold the panels together and the elements are now working to push the panels away from the concrete. The bottom several inches of the stone panels are below grade and at this time we would like to get a repair done without digging out the base. Vendor must: Introduce a binding agent so mitigate further movement of the stone panels away form the concrete inner base. Ideally, binding agents can be introduced through the cracks at the joints. Repair the joints with a matching epoxy. Interested Vendors please submit a proposal addressing how you would secure the panels to the concretes and repair the joints so that water and dirt could no longer leak into the void between the stone and concrete. Hawaii State Art Museum, Courtyard (HiSAM) In a marble bench, approximately 30 feet of thin cracking, approximately 40 small holes, and the reattachment of two small (about 4” x 4” each) pieces of the stone (we have the stone pieces), and another approximately 4” x 4” chip where the stone is knocked out but unrecovered needs filled and repaired. All the materials used in the filling and reattachment must reasonably match the existing color of the stone. Vender must: Fill cracks, holes, and large chip. Reattach the stone pieces which have been broken off. Color-match Limestone bench segments missing grout. The gap between segments are approximately 1/8” wide x x 16 “ long. Approximately 30’ of grout missing from several benches. In cracks with missing grout, it may be that to achieve a watertight seal, the old remaining grout in that crack may need to removed as well. It will depend on the compatibility of the old and new grout to bond with each other. Vendor must: Replace caulk where it is missing in all of limestone bench and bench-like surfaces.
