Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. This contractor shall be responsible for all tunnel joint and curtain grouting repairs as outlined in the contract documents. Sheet C501 shows a “joints to repair list” with approximate quantities shown provided for reference only. The contractor shall verify all dimensions and quantities shown on the plans and accommodate for additional materials that may be required to meet minimum specified coverage in injection limits. 2. This contractor shall provide and install new water infiltration deflectors at ten (10) locations. The final location of these deflectors shall be coordinated with the construction manager and DAS/CCM. 3. All work shall be constructed in accordance with the most recent edition of Iowa statewide urban design and specification (SUDAS). 4. The contractor shall be responsible for protecting existing utilities during construction. This includes but is not limited to temporary protection of all utilities within the tunnel from water infiltration and seepage and damage due to impacts from construction work. 5. This contractor shall clean up the site daily keeping the tunnels clean at all times. 6. This contractor to control dust from spreading from all work areas during construction activities. 7. The contractor shall review existing site and utility locations within the tunnels as existing utilities will need to be maintained and protected at all times during construction. Access to work areas will be limited by existing utilities and equipment in the tunnels. The contractor will need to work around existing utilities and adjust construction methods as required to complete the specified scope of work. 8. Contractors shall protect utilities, lighting, fire alarm system devices and equipment in the tunnels. Coordinate temporary protection and shutdown of fire alarm system devises with construction manager as required. 9. Limited power sources are available thought the tunnel system and can be utilized by the contractors during construction. Contractors shall review power source locations and power quality during bidding and account for additional temporary power sources as may be required by construction in their bids. 10. Staging locations and construction access routes for construction equipment and materials located outside the Lucas building exact location shall be coordinated with and approved by the state and construction manager. Freight elevator access and outdoor access hatch from the Lucas building into the tunnels available to contractors.
