Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. MEET WITH MASTER PLANNING COMMITTEE The selected consultant should meet with the Master Planning Committee (“MPC”). Monroe Public Schools staff will provide background about the history, land uses, demography, and District goals of the Monroe Public Schools in relation to this plan. B. COMMUNITY OUTREACH The scope and services will include individual school meetings with the community and the staff at each of the District’s five district sites to identify key issues related to the Monroe Public School facilities. The consultant should be prepared to facilitate these meetings, collect and document input from the participants. The consultant will also meet with District staff to review the requirements of the District’s administrative and maintenance facilities. The consultant shall also propose additional methods (e.g. interviews, surveys, and focus groups) to gather information and schedule to obtain additional community and District representative input regarding school facilities. C. FACILITIES ASSESSMENT This task involves the consultant completing a physical evaluation of all the District’s existing and former sites (including Chalk Hill School) and their condition to understand the basis for modernization/new construction/ replacement based upon the curriculum needs as defined by the MPC and Community Outreach process. The consultant will evaluate each site based on areas of possible growth, expansion, or consolidation, the context of the schools, the visual definition of the campus and how the indoor and outdoor spaces function independently and together.
