Specifications include, but are not limited to: The custom mounting hardware supplied under this contract shall be made of heavy gauge steel that is capable of supporting the sign. All welded connections and joints shall be reinforced as necessary to provide reliable function that do not exhibit fatigue or crack, break, bend or detach in an unintended fashion when the device is used and is subjected to wind loading, snow impact loads and/or vibration during the device’s anticipated service life. Provide sign mountings capable of attaching the sign to the pole with structural adequacy and in a position at the sign's designated location. Assure the structural components and design of the sign mounting meet or exceed all requirements set forth in the standard Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires and Traffic Signals" as published by AASHTO, and any amendments thereto. The Custom Mounting Hardware shall not require recalibration after initial mounting of flat aluminum traffic sign panels to traffic sign structures, poles, mast arms, and supports, for the full rated life span of use. The Department may, at their option; do recalibration and or maintenance on or around newly or previously mounted Custom Mounting Hardware and still get its full rated life span of use. All Custom Mounting Hardware shall be rated for outdoor and long life applications in Arizona's diverse alpine to desert environment.
