Specifications include, but are not limited to: multi-phase renovation of interior and exterior components at Iowa Memorial Union Building. It will be a comprehensive renovation focusing on student support, resources, and activities, enhancing the facility as the primary student social center. Relocation and integration of student health and counseling will be a major component of the modernization, bringing together in one location all student care resources. Meeting space, food service options, and multipurpose rooms will be upgraded and expanded. The south entrance will be renovated, along with improved circulation throughout the building and enhanced views to key amenities, including the river terrace. Exterior and site components consist of a veranda element wrapping the south and east sides of the building, upgrading the Iowa Memorial Union South Entry Plaza by removing or reconfiguring metered parking to the south, improving pavement and plantings to make the entrance more inviting, enhancing the site between the IMU and Hubbard Park to become more pedestrian friendly, and providing a direct connection to the river corridor.; Basement Floor currently accommodates mechanical, electrical, and fire protection spaces. Portion of the basement is unexpected. Renovation scope is unknown at this time.; The Ground floor renovation will focus on new space for UHD catering, Bakery, Student lounge, Food service storage and IMU operations roughly 10,000 SQFT.; The first-floor concept includes roughly 29,000 SQFT encompassing the following Entry Lobby, Front desk, IMU admin space, Student Wellness, Wellbeing Center Reception/ Entry Area. The food service area would include Seating, Serving, Retail Serving, Kitchen/ Back of House. UHD catering will also have Main Lounge support in this space.; The second floor includes roughly 30,000 SQFT. Of the following Basic Needs, healthcare student care and assistance, Counseling services, Catering, Building storage, Student life central services hub, Student organizations/ Campus Activities Board/ Student Government, Dean of Students Suite, New restrooms.; The third floor will include roughly 9,000 SQFT of renovations for Student organizations, MGC and NPHC area, Dean of student units /programs.; The 4th floor includes roughly 14,000 SQFT of renovations for health service.; Portions of building spaces will be occupied during construction, requiring extensive phasing and careful coordination.
