Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Providing traffic control, including off-duty or uniformed police officers 2. Excavating and exposing water pipelines 3. Exposing, protecting and repair other underground utilities as needed to perform work 4. Shoring trenches in accordance with all applicable occupational safety regulations 5. De-watering excavations 6. Providing pumping equipment 7. Plating trenches overnight for public safety 8. Repairing/relocating/installing/ by-pass piping and valves 9. Working in confined spaces, vaults or shored excavations, and providing ventilating equipment when necessary 10. Operating valves by hand or with appropriate power tools 11. Repairing and relacing water pipelines and valves ranging in size from 2 inches up to 108 inches in diameter 12. Constructing manholes, vaults, etc. 13. Backfilling and providing temporary and/or permanent pavement replacement 14. Backfilling with ABC slurry in heavy traffic intersections 15. Providing clean-up and disposal of surplus material and restoring the job sites 16. Providing the necessary chemicals for disinfection of water pipelines 17. Repairing/reconnecting of services that are connected to the water pipelines being repaired 18. Providing a “Repairs Accomplished” report for every location. This report will include at a minimum the following information: a. Valve make, model, serial number, etc. b. Comprehensive description of work accomplished c. Specific parts replaced, source of parts/repairs d. Assessment of water works equipment e. Depth of manhole floor (base) below pavement surface f. Shop drawings, operation and maintenance information for any replacement valves g. Record drawings of repairs 19. All other emergency work as it relates to this JOC, and if need be, respond to other emergencies within the Water Services Department.
