Specifications include, but are not limited to: Simplify and centralize the parcel and package shipment process for shipments originating from its Lawrence, KS campus. The awarded shipping management service provider shall offer: • a mature, wed-based shipping management solution for users (i.e. KU faculty, staff, students) to initiate shipping requests; • a user-friendly and carrier-agnostic platform that allows users to compare options (i.e. rates, estimated delivery dates, etc.) across multiple carriers; • the ability for KU to leverage its existing contracts with the major carriers; • access to specialty, niche, and/or local carriers not necessarily in KU’s current portfolio; • tools to assist with the shipment of hazardous materials, dangerous goods, and other delicate research materials; • export control and compliance capabilities; • visibility to inbound shipments originating from abroad. • flexible billing and payment options; and • a centralized view into campus shipping data with insights, trends, and recommendations.
