Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Assist the County staff, Corrections Officers and Law Enforcement in providing a safe, calm, and secure environment within the MDC Facility, and help protect the physical assets of the facilities. The general armed and unarmed security service components the County requires include, but are not limited to: a. Ensure each post is staffed without fail during all shifts to eliminate any disruption to MDC operations; b. Utilize best practices and proper screening methodologies in conjunction with on-site screening equipment to identify, report, and document any contraband found on inmates, employees or visitors; c. Monitor and operate the County’s security screening systems and report any security violations, disruptions, or other dangerous situations to the supervisory staff on duty according to the security operating instructions and MDC policies; d. Document prohibited items found or suspicion of contraband possession and report incidents immediately to on duty supervisory staff; e. Thoroughly maintain all records and logs for the screening and patrol components of the contract; f. Assist and cooperate with on-site corrections personnel and staff to ensure contraband does not enter the facility; g. Operate a County Owned vehicle for perimeter patrols in accordance with County policies. Report County vehicle maintenance issues to the County Security Manager; h. Provide assistance for traffic control in special circumstances; i. Provide escorts for the general public and County employees on an as needed basis; j. Assist the County’s employees and cooperate and assist Law Enforcement and the Fire Department during fire alarms and emergency evacuation situations; k. Administer minor emergency first aid to injured parties and notify appropriate authorities in the event of an accident or emergency; l. Provide daily reports about all incidents that have occurred in the facilities no later than twenty-four (24) hours after any occurrence including, but not limited to, any threats of violence, injuries, altercations, or otherwise, and report any security deficiencies or safety concerns; and m. Document all activities and incidents on site to include daily activities as well as the number of visitors who enter the facilities by keeping accurate logs and reports.
