Specifications include, but are not limited to: Idaho Falls Power (IFP) has contracted out locating services since 2012. This bid is to obtain prices for locating services beginning in October 2024 with provisions to extend the contract for subsequent years. Upon receipt of this bid IFP will enter into a contract with the low bidder. If the low bidder is a party other than IFP’s current contractor, the new contract will become effective after the contractual notification time for termination of our existing contract has been met. IFP also operates a fiber optic network as Idaho Falls Fiber (IFF) For the purpose of this bid IFP expects the bidders to provide pricing to locate the electric and fiber infrastructure. To assist bidders in the development of cost, the following is some additional information on IFP: • IFP experiences around 7,500 locate requests per year. o After-hours emergency locates are approximately 60 per year. • IFP has approximately 267 miles of primary underground conductor, 330 miles of secondary conductor, and 219 miles of underground fiber optic cable. • The system has approximately 30,000 accounts all located in the City of Idaho Falls, Idaho. o The City of Idaho Falls encompasses approximately 24 square miles. • The actual number of locates for October 2021 through September 2022 are attached.
