Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor will provide general cleaning of all areas specified inside and outside the building as directed by the City as described in this document. Work will consist of a 7-day per week schedule except where special or additional cleaning needs are specified, with some other periodic cleaning as described in the specifications. The following cleaning requirement breakdown is a general description of the cleaning services required for the Animal Services facility: Daily: 1. Inspect, clean, and sanitize all occupied and unoccupied animal holding areas in accordance with State of Kansas requirements. 2. Wipe down all kennel walls, gates, and door surfaces, and any other surfaces such as, aquariums, terrariums, portable holding cages, laminate tops, or other surfaces such as paneling and other wall coverings, etc. utilizing proper products designed and formulated for cleaning and sanitizing. 3. Ensure that products used do not leave behind a residue/film; if they do, wipe down surfaces to ensure the film and or residue is no longer present. Due to their corrosive nature, chlorine bleach or bleach mixtures will not be used without the expressed consent of Animal Services Administrative staff. 4. Empty, clean, and sanitize all refuse receptacles used in the performance of duties. 5. Solid organic waste will be placed in the sanitary sewer as appropriate. Trash such as litter, plastic, and paper waste will be placed in designated trash containers and/or dumpsters in tied and sealed trash bags as to prevent and minimize spillage and odor. The City will be responsible for service provided to the dumpsters. 6. A general spot cleaning of animal holding areas will be performed at least once every two hours to remove any solid waste or urine from dog kennels and address any unsightly or unsanitary conditions in all holding areas. 7. Wet mop public hallways using a cleaner/disinfectant germicidal cleaner with an odorcounteracting agent. Damp mops the floor after wet moping to pick up excess water to ensure water and cleaning agents are not tracked on the building floor coverings. 8. Clean and sanitize dishes and utensils used in the feeding and care of animal population. 9. Clean and sanitize towels, blankets, and other cloth-based materials used in the cleaning, care of, and provision of comfort of all animals housed in the facility. 10. Check hallways and walkways within the facility kennel areas to facilitate clear walking paths unobstructed by items that would present a tripping hazard.
